Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) Commissioning…Requires Skill, Experience, Time and Competence!
A few interesting shots taken during our latest BWTS commissioning for – bio-uv.com – BIOS-SEA B03-450 on board the vessel CRUISE BONARIA.
Our technicians are responding more and more to provide commissioning utilizing expertise and competence in this field.
We are technical/sales partners with BIO-SEA by BIO-UV Group, and have developed through the years a great synergy and organization with our French partner which produces the Ballast Water Treatment System (bio-uv.com).
The ballast water treatment system BIO-SEA combines mechanical filtration and high UV dose disinfection, without any chemical treatment, made with high quality marine components. BIO-SEA systems are IMO and USCG type approved.
We have been representing and supporting BIO SEA as sales and post sales partner since 2015 and we are really pleased our collaboration continues to strengthen.
A glance at numbers show that all over Italy 36 systems were sold, 12 installed while Tefin provided commissioning for five ships/yachts.
Awareness about the need and value for BWTS is spreading … The main objective of commissioning testing is not to validate the Type Approval but to demonstrate that the principle treatment methods of the system are capable of functioning as installed.
As we all know, the Ballast Water Treatment System is designed to remove/destroy/inactivate biological organisms from ballast water. Ballast water dangerously creates ecological problems due to the multitude of marine species carried in ships’ ballast water. The ballast water includes bacteria, microbes, small invertebrates, eggs, cysts and larvae of various species. The BWTS is a proven system supported by all who care for a Green economy today. We at Tefin have always been eco-friendly and keen to have a significant role in it.
