Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has  become so relevant that it is now a priority in the strategies of major corporations world wide.

Today, top managers of large multinationals consider it a must to be implemented on an ongoing basis. And it seems clear that in the future they will be increasingly oriented towards business choices with sustainability objectives.

Corporate Social Responsibility was officially defined in 2001 by the European Community as: «the voluntary integration by companies of social and environmental concerns in their business operations and in their relationships with interested parties».

In a global market today, all companies feel they have to take care of their reputation in the eyes of citizens. Especially if citizens are becoming increasingly attentive and sensitive to the issue of sustainability, both economic and environmental, even in their consumer choices.
