Lately our client La Mediterranea di Navigazione called for service support and advice as, time wise, they were experiencing a real impasse. It was for a retrofit of a safety and control system of a main engine (MAN B&W, type 6 L 48/60) on board their SVEVA vessel.

The engine maker had requested three weeks, stopping navigation and commercial activities, and about 8 months for final commissioning as well. The client was in trouble, as the engine in navigation was not respecting RINA regulations for safety. It was dangerous!

Tefin was able to develop a project tailored to the Client in a very short time: less than 20 days. While the whole retrofit and commissioning at sea, was performed in 5 days.  Therefore, months of down time were saved.

It all happened during the Easter holidays but our dedicated and experienced technicians Andrea and Ciro, reached the ship all the way to Jamaica for the repairs and commissioning. It was a great job!
