PORTS OF THE FUTURE

PORTS OF THE FUTURE

PORTS OF THE FUTURE

We all know ports are fundamental to the global economy, transferring up to 90 percent of the world’s goods. Yet most of them are in great need of quick, large-scale modernization, with operations being slowed down by vessel/truck congestion.

Hopefully you are working in this direction.

Our Seastream e-Harbor can be indeed the right solution to empower your port services and systems. in fact, by using the power of cellular phone technology and the application of modern digital systems,  it can transform ports into more productive and sustainable transport hubs.

Why e-harbor? To empower ports to:

Create agility – by using port space and assets more effectively
Advance operations -by automating more processes and managing higher volumes
Unlock intelligence -by providing efficiency-boosting, real-time data to workers

All the above resulting in remarkable cost reduction.

What’s eHarbor? It is an integrated web services platform for port operations providers. Inspired by IMO’s Maritime Service Portfolios , several services have  been developed  in line with the concepts of e-navigation and connected port (also called Smart Port).

Main features in e-Harbour:

  • Vessel Traffic Monitoring : monitoring of ship traffic in transit or in port using  both land and onboard AIS.
  • Weather forecast: Marine weather forecasts provided by third parties.
  • Representation showing important information for navigation on electronic nautical charts.
  • Weather monitoring: environmental weather monitoring parameters, through a ground weather station.
  • Data analytics: real-time dashboard representation and statistical analysis of data from AIS and weather stations.
  • Scenario evaluation: analysis of the towing and mooring operations, by recording the joint ship-tug boat maneuver on professional maritime nautical charts.
  • Scheduler: management and display of departure times of passenger ships.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 it has become even more important and necessary to focus on port digitalization as ports must find ways to keep trade flowing as efficiently as possible.
