SHIPPING ITALY: R&D products align with ecological trend
Tefin supports the green “corridors” of the sea with its products and skills…
There is a clear need for more sustainable ships sailing seas that are now unfortunately
World-wide in “distress”. This seems to be the present trend and goal we are all working toward …from different perspectives!
Most goods still travel by sea…There is a daily call for improvements that could benefit the environment and assure optimal results that may allow us to continue to hope for an advanced technology that explicitly achieves the global objectives for a healthy eco-system!
Despite the endless discussions and events on the subject, the journey towards a concrete and satisfying “ecological” goal seems long, complex and adventurous to achieve. People talk also of “green corridors” where maritime transport and its related activities can be tested with total zero emissions.
In fact, the maritime sector’s challenge towards zero emissions has begun!
Companies are taking action in adopting or testing new technologies, revisiting their strategies and embracing others. Also commissioning what could be the first zero-emission ships.
As a matter of fact, it is all a spur of activities and “concerns” about being able to comply with the 2024 and 2050 targets and deadlines.
Tefin, like all businesses that focus on both its customers and the market with intelligence and attention, is active in both refitting support, maintenance, customization and application of new systems and technologies on board and in the development of in-house products.
At the moment our ESS (Energy Saving System) has been commissioned by a ship owner who requested its installation on board 36 ships of his fleet, previously used on 28 ships of the same fleet. We have carried out all the technical checks necessary to customize the on-board system, as it should be… and we are now proceeding with the order.
Our ESS is an intelligent energy saving system, totally based on inverter technology. It is one of the latest products of our R&D Division.
It is an innovative on-board automation system to optimize energy consumption and reduce environmental pollution while monitoring both energy and fuel consumption.
It is applied on Cooling Water & Engine Room Ventilation systems.
We believe that complying with international directives to help reduce and potentially eliminate maritime pollution requires everyone’s collaboration, competence and engineering design.
