One of the latest we are dealing with is NetWave NW6000 Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) System. The most advanced and cost effective VDR system yet.

Nowadays almost any ship has a VDR.

VDRs are very important as they are  the best evidence in an accident investigation. The data on these VDR systems provides a detailed understanding of events leading up to an accident. It is essential that they are always in order and able to record the required data!

Aside from their usage in accident investigation, they can also be used for preventive maintenance, performance efficiency monitoring, heavy weather damage analysis, accident avoidance and training purposes to improve safety and reduce running costs.
