WE ARE GETTING READY FOR WORLD OCEANS DAY 2021, AND YOU?

It is a fact that the ocean is presently in need of our help. We can all work differently but together, for better results and a healthy ocean and climate! The ocean covers over 70% of the planet. It is our life source, supporting humanity’s sustenance and that of every other organism on earth.
The ocean produces at least 50% of the planet’s oxygen, it is home to most of earth’s biodiversity, and is the main source of protein for more than a billion people around the world. It is the key to our economy with an estimated 40 million people being employed by ocean-based industries by 2030. With 90% of big fish populations depleted, and 50% of coral reefs destroyed, we are taking more from the ocean than can be replenished. It’s extremely surprising and encouraging to see more people and organizations today coming together globally to support this issue. It is clear that together we can make the difference. Decisions about the future of our blue planet are being made this year by world leaders, and they need to hear from us! The actions that our leaders take (or fail to take) this year will determine the health of our blue planet in the future. It is time to show foresight and take action!
Together with BIO-UV Group, with whom we are technical/sales partners, we promote and install their Ballast Water Treatment System (ballast-water-treatment.com) which addresses one of the oceans’ serious issues.

The ballast water treatment system BIO-SEA combines mechanical filtration and high UV dose disinfection, without any chemical treatment, made with high quality marine quality components. BIO-SEA systems are IMO and USCG type approved.

Awareness about the need and value for BWTS is increasing as the system is designed to inactivate biological organisms from ballast water to avoid the spread of invasive species across the Oceans.
